LYRICS & MEANINGS
HEY LORD
Say boy, well I've been watching you
Hey boy, I've been helping you
You raised up your eye, up to the sky
Looked up to heaven for the question why
Raised up your eye up to the sky
looked up to heaven for the question why
you say....
HEY LORD HEY LORD
Why can't I feel you near me?
HEY LORD, HEY LORD
Why can't I feel you next to me tonight?
Hold on, you know you're only young
Hold on, because your time will come
I've been watching, I've been waiting
I've been walking right beside you
I've been watching, I've been waiting
I've been walking right beside you
You say....
HEY LORD, HEY LORD
Why can't I feel you near me?
HEY LORD, HEY LORD
Why can't I feel you next to me tonight?
HEY LORD, HEY LORD
HEY LORD, HEY LORD
" This song started with a keyboard riff by Rick, the lyrics were written
on a plane coming back from my Grandfathers funeral in Paris in February
'88, I fell badly ill that night, although no-one else in the family was,
oddly, it felt like a cleansing, I later read that people have often
reported similar sickness after the death of a loved one and then their
lives had improved 10 fold, it's as if the passing spirit touches you &
helps you on, but the shock of the event causes your body to go into
shock, my experience did tie in with that, although these words came out
during the sickness & it's as if my questions were answered 6 months later
when we were signed, it was like a soul enema! "
